History

Pendle Witch Distillery was created by David Moore, from Clitheroe, who was inspired to start a distilling liquor after watching an American programme called Moonshiners. After watching the series, David and his dad decided to start making whisky themselves and built their own still in a shed at home. Impressed by the quality of the whisky they were able to create, they had a vision to build a full scale distillery.

The Moore family live close to the site of the new distillery and when they saw it was up for sale, decided to buy the land and make the dream come true.

Following the untimely passing of his father, David was determined to get the distillery off the ground.

The new distillery is a true family run venture. Younger son Robert is training to be a professional distiller, whilst David’s wife Sharon runs the shop on site after leaving her job as a dinner lady.
